How to shorten the learning curve to become unstoppable

Since a young age, I was super competitive, and I hated to lose, but who doesn’t? When I was playing tennis, I was being coached to become a better tennis player faster. Also, I was surrounded by people who wanted me to succeed, such as my parents and my friends.

Because I hate to lose in the game of life and business, I always look at the potential ways of minimizing the learning curve to get me to the place where I am going faster.

These tips are from my personal life, which might not work for you; however, I know for a fact that it helps me.

  • Get a coach
  • Keep on learning
  • Entourage
  • Reflect
  • Never Give up

Get a coach

Since playing tennis, I was having a tennis coach. I firmly believe that people who were there know much more about the journey than me. They will be able to show me the way and support me during challenging times because they want me to succeed.

There are several ways I could get coached. I can hire a personal coach or buy some courses or books. All those options are beneficial because I tried all of them, but the most helpful one is personal coaching. Yeah, some people told me it is a waste of time as well as money.

But I know for a fact that if Pejman Ghadimy, the founder of Secret Entourage and other platforms, did not coach me, I would not be on the path where I am right now. He uncovered the road map to help me to see my potential as well as revealing the truth about running businesses.

Of course, there are many painful moments, and sometimes I question myself, why did I start the journey. Fortunately for me, the competitive nature in me knows that I need help, and my ego has no chance even to question WHY. The small winnings are so addicting that I do whatever I can to experience the wins again.

The power of the person getting to know me, and being able to pinpoint the cold hard facts about my specific approach to my business is priceless. Yes, it is hard as F***, but being the same person as I was last year is even harder.

Keep on learning

I loved school so much that learning new things was so pleasant, Nah, I am lying. I was a horrible student, but I found ways to get things done that I could graduate.

By having my own business, I had to learn many new skills because my budget was minimal to hire an expert. The good news was that I could learn almost anything from the internet. YouTube, Google, Udemy were great places to start.

For example, I learned how to build a website, taking pictures, creating animated videos for free by using Google and YouTube.

If I were afraid to take the first step, I would not be where I am today. When I look back on how bad my picture-taking skill was, compared to today, I was like, wow, what an ugly picture. By step by step, the quality is improving, and I know that by acquiring a new set of skills, I will be able to act faster and more powerful when the time comes to use those skills, which I am willing to learn.

Entourage

Being surrounded by people who are better than me on many levels is excellent. My entourage is very small because I realized that not that many people have big dreams, strong drive, and willingness to push each other to be better than yesterday.

My wife, Lauren, is one of the key elements to help me to become unstoppable. She knows what I want to accomplish, and she does everything in her power to allow me to do that.

Having the right people in my entourage is very important to me because I can feed on their energy and ideas every single day and see the possibilities.

I am working to move my “normal” to a much higher level than it is now. When I started  Value Your Watch Marketplace, my traffic to the site was only around 20 visits per day, which 19 visits were from me. Now, I get regular over 300 visits per day, which is my new normal and I aj not the person visiting the site the most.

Every single day, I can see what and how my entourage works, talks, and share their ideas. By having them being part of my circle, I am leveling up much faster than if I am alone.

Reflect

Reflecting on my actions is relatively challenging for me because I need to ask different questions which are not the most comfortable to ask.

Do I have everything I want?

Did I improve 1% compared to yesterday?

Did I give everything I got to get me where I want to be?

How can I improve to be more efficient?

By allowing my self to see the possibilities by reflecting, I realize the potential I have, and by acting, on it, I am moving forward faster than ever before.

This is the least pleasant thing to do to help me to move faster because sometimes I realize that I am lying to myself. Yeah, I need to kick my self to get up and keep on moving forward the direction I know is right for me and not just dreaming about it.

Never Give up

When I realized that I have all the tools and all the support I need to succeed, giving up is not the answer. Giving up on an idea that is going to work is plain stupid, and I would never forget myself throwing away the chance of getting to the place where I want to be with my family.

There are moments I feel like giving up; fortunately for me; I am like a goldfish. I forget what happened faster than I blink. This is a great personality trait when I need to forget the painful lessons, but not so good when I am looking for the car keys.

I know I got only one life and one chance to become the best at what I do. It’s time to push harder and faster than ever before.
